# Introduction

Any subscription can be manually cancelled at any time.

Cancelling a trial subscription (before the trial ends) prevents actual charges, while cancelling an already paid subscription generates a refund for the unused time as virtual customer credit.

# Cancel

To cancel your subscription click on Subscriptions in the navigation menu on the left, find your active subscription in the list, click the gear icon and click Cancel.

Cancelling a trial subscription makes you ineligible for it. You won't be able to continue your trial even if you had unused time.

# Refund

The system will calculate the remaining time of your billing cycle (with a single minute precision) and refund it as virtual customer credit.

# Example

Let's suppose you purchased a 100.00$ monthly plan on 1st of January 2022 and on 10th of January you decide to cancel the subscription.

You have 21 unused days from your billing cycle, priced at:

100.00\$ * \frac{21}{31} = 67.74\$

You'll get a refund of 67.74$.

# Expiration

Apart from manual cancellation subscriptions can also expire.

The process is automatic and happens when we're unable to charge your payment method, or you do not pay your invoice within the allowed grace period.

Since expiration happens after all paid for time of a billing cycle has already passed, there is no refund.

If you have enough virtual customer credit to cover a subscription payment, it will be used with precedence and a physical charge won't even be attempted, regardless of the chosen payment method.

# Troubleshooting

Here's a list of common issues you might encounter and their solutions.

If your subscription plan was in trial you won't get any refund as trials are free, and you weren't charged for it.

If your trial period expired, and you were charged for the subscription, make sure to check if your virtual customer credit balance did not reflect the refund.

You cannot reinstate an expired / cancelled subscription, but you can always purchase a new one.

If your subscription was at a preferential price or had a discount, allowing it to expire will void the discount.
